Assistant Environmental Manager

Our CSR team works according to the four pillars of our sustainability mission; making our products and processes sustainable, improving working conditions, optimising our way of working and contributing to society.  They also determine the sustainability strategy within WE Fashion and, together with all departments within WE, research and implement positive opportunities in the area of sustainability.

As Assistant Environmental Manager, you play an important role in making our supply chain more sustainable. You check the required material certificates, direct suppliers and buyers to hand them in on time and check this against the orders. In doing so, you take into account our sustainability standards.
In addition, you make the overview of our suppliers, their suppliers and the production processes involved. You also collect data on their footprint, using Worldly FEM and Amfori BEPI, among others. Based on this collected information, you will make improvement proposals to the Environmental Manager.

What do we expect from you?

• You have at least a completed Bachelor's degree preferably in Sustainability, Environment, Sustainable Supply Chain Management or a textile degree with a focus on sustainability.
• You have 0-2 years of relevant work experience in a similar role, with knowledge of materials, supply chain and certifications;
• You possess strong analytical skills and knowledge of Excel;
• You are always on the lookout for process improvements, making impact and you can engage and convince relevant stakeholders (buying department and suppliers);
• You have excellent knowledge of the English language as your role is internationally oriented.
