Shanna Abdulla, Import & Export Employee
"I handle all logistical matters concerning Europe and countries in the Far East," Shanna, Import & Export Employee, begins. "Together with my colleagues, I ensure that our goods from these regions arrive correctly and are forwarded to our European distribution centre, after which they are then shipped to the stores and our external partners." It's 2018 when Shanna starts at WE Fashion, at the time still as a Sales Assistant in one of our stores. "I joined the Supply Chain team as I had been involved in international business, trade and global economics during my college years. After completing my minor in European Union Studies, I had the necessary skills and knowledge and applied for my current position." A good decision, in Shanna's opinion. "I enjoy going to work every day. WE® makes a great contribution to this, because the organisation pays a lot of attention to personal development. There’s recognition for my work and mistakes are converted into points of improvement. I really like this." In addition, Shanna has been part of the WE® Works Council since January 2022 and contributes to the organisation's innovation. "I’m curious about the working methods within WE Fashion and consider the interests of our employees to be important. Hence, I joined this group. I am willing to learn more about the company and offer a listening ear to colleagues, contacts and the customer."

"As a logistical employee at WE®, I cover two different continents, so the work is very diverse and I'm doing something different every day," Shanna explains. "In addition, I regularly work with our women's, men's and kids' departments at the headquarters. Administrative tasks are part of my job too. For example, entering and handling orders, forwarding various invoices to the Finance department and keeping track of all mail correspondence." The logistical department is a central point within the organisation. Has the flow of goods been delayed? Shanna and her team know just what to do. "In such a case, we figure out how to solve the situation as efficiently as possible. So, team spirit is very important in my area of expertise. Fortunately, there’s a real 'Better Together' culture within the company," she says. According to her, this is not only felt in the Supply Chain department, but also in all other layers of the organisation. Shanna: "Here, we learn from and with each other, that's the power of WE Fashion."
Reflecting on the strides she's been able to make so far, Shanna says the following: "I'm proud of myself and my progression. Therefore, I hope that I'll be able to gain even more knowledge in the future and further specialise in customs matters and the continents I work with." As for her further career, she definitely sees it at WE Fashion: "The job is fun, special and very educational. I really enjoy it here, have a good connection with my colleagues and still got lots to learn. In my opinion, WE® is the right place for me."

Marije has been working at WE Fashion for three years and knows all the ins and outs of buying: "It's important to keep your eyes open, observe what's happening in the market and translate these outcomes - together with current sales results - into a new and even better collection. In all this communication and teamwork are key."
Shannon has completely settled in at WE®: “I’ve been promoted several times. I believe that anything is possible, as long as you are eager to learn.”
Patrick is a big believer in teamwork and very proud of his team: "I love working with them to develop an idea, starting with little more than a piece of paper and a pencil."
